Born and raised in Wilton, Connecticut; graduated Amherst College and Johns Hopkins Medical School. Completed training in Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Two years active duty in US Navy as General Medical Officer. Came to University Hospital & Medical Center Stony Brook in 1983 to found the Department of Radiation Oncology. Appointed clinical director of Stony Brook Cancer Center in 1994. Board member of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, Inc. since it’s founding in 1996,and treasurer from 1996 through 2004.
